Israeli jet fighters have conducted exercises at a military base in Iraq to attack targets inside Iran.
A considerable number of Israeli warplanes were seen at the base of al-Asad in Iraq, a source close to the group of prominent Iraqi cleric Muqtada al-Sadr.
aircraft reportedly included F-15, F-16, F-18, M-22 and KC-10 fighter jets.
warplanes carried out their exercises a week at night, the same source added.
The exercises were aimed at the preparation of reports to attack air defense systems to Iran and stop Iran's radars and attack targets deep inside Iran.
Iraqi authorities had not been notified of the exercises, which were carried out in collaboration with the U.S. military.
The United States maintains several bases in Iraq and the Baghdad government does not participate in any military deployments that take place there.
